Staying here for a family trip was enjoyable overall. The twin room was spacious enough for us and offered a nice view from the front of the building. We appreciated the ample parking available, especially as we were visiting many local attractions just a short bus ride away, like the University of Oxford and Ashmolean Museum. The breakfast options were plentiful, featuring fresh fruit, which made for a good start to our mornings, even if we missed out on trying the cooked options due to our late rising.

The room wasn't soundproofed so I was kept awake until 2 am by the footsteps and banging doors of other (noisy) guests. At one stage someone bumped into my door so I wedged my suitcase against it because I was frightened that someone would come in! Next morning I sat on a chair outside the dining room, as I was expecting my daughter (who lives nearby) to join me for breakfast but when she arrived at about 9 am the proprietress said that breakfast had finished. I had been waiting for sometime and was surprised that she didn't warn me I would be too late to eat. It was the first (and last!) time I had been in her establishment! When I came to pay I mentioned that my sleep had been badly disturbed by the night noises. She said I was rude to say so as she had been there for 17 years without complaints. When I spoke to defend myself she admitted there was a family with noisy daughters. I also told her about my disappointment at not having breakfast for which she discounted £5 from my bill.
Convenient position.
Proprietress unsympathetic to the needs and complaints of her guest. The en-suite shower was not working properly.

The staff are very helpful. The breakfast was good, plenty of fruits. Rooms are clean. Parking available on site. A couple of minutes walk from the bus stop; very convenient for shuttling back and forth to town center.

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. I really appreciated the free WiFi and tea in the room. The breakfast was delicious. It was easy to reach the city centre via a short bus journey from just outside. There are shops and restaurants nearby if you don't feel like getting the bus in to town. Overall fantastic, I would definitely recommend this.
Slight distance from town centre, but this is fully explained on the hotels website and the bus journey was quite easy so this is very very minor. As other reviewers commented, the decor is slightly dated, but this did not bother me at all, it was lovely and clean and comfortable.

The spacious Triple Room was perfect for us, and the breakfast was a hit with the kids. The staff was super friendly.
My wife says that the en-suite could use some modernization.

The breakfasts were excellent. I was particularly thankful for the "mega" option, which left me satisfied in a way few breakfasts do. Though located outside the city center, the bus was extremely easy to use, making for a very pleasant stay.

Family with children deserve a comfy escape
The entire stay reminded me of a family gathering, where everyone genuinely cared about making us happy. We had a lovely breakfast and they were even flexible with extra requests.
I have to admit it wasn't exactly cheap, but worth the expense for the experience.

We were visiting friends in Summertown and Cotswold house is very close to their home so was extremely conveniently located. All the facilities worked, our room was spacious.
Generally, the decor was a bit dated and could do with updating, but that is not terribly important as the place was smart, clean and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay.

The property was charming old and special, I would recomand!
Everything was really good, so were wonderful views to the back garden. Its location within easy walking distance of Chapel was peaceful. Was in a beautiful area and close to restaurants and bars. The hotel had a pleasant restaurant for evening meals.
